The unique soil types of the Modra wine-growing area have convinced us that we want to focus our attention on this place and on traditional varieties. Typical of Modra and perfectly reflecting their origin. In Malé divy, we‘ve made a promise to grow these traditional varieties and point out unique characteristics of each vineyard. To us, it‘s a wonderful game to to produce wines of one variety from different subsoils in different ways and to present the beautiful diversity of the Modran terroir as well as our view of these varieties. Our whole philosophy lies in careful cultivation, sensible and careful processing of the crop, so that every year we capture what the vineyard gives us in the wines.

It’s vital to captue the essence of vintage, based on inanimate factors such as climate, weather, geology or geographical location. Nevertheless, the inanimate factors of vineyard‘s habitat, in interaction with living part of the landscape, create a real reflection of the place. It’s the human factor that significantly affects wine’s character and quality. In our wines, you can catch all our work spent in the vineyards and cellars, knowledge, decisions as well as the energy we gave them.

Malé divy are a symbol of this terroir. They represent a combination of natural conditions the land is offering us and which, together with the social, cultural and historical aspect form the uniqueness and typical character of wine from this area.
